Message My first set I drilled and tapped and never had an issue. This 2nd go around I decided to go ahead and weld on the fitting just to have the cleaner look. But as you know you have to remove the inner baffle to make sure the inside metal is all clean for the weld. Then you have to drill and tap to secure the baffle back in place, etc. A lot more work.

For customer cars I drill and tap still. Simple threaded barb fitting from Home Depot works great, and I get a very snug fit when threading it in. Just a simple wash and a really good rinse to make sure the shavings are out of the baffle/cover and you are good to go.
